THANK YOU all for such kind words! You really lifted my spirits! I agree with one of the comments that was made "women tend to put too much pressure on being perfect" - i was glad to hear that I am not alone in feeling like i am expected to be perfect - but really, who is, right?
anyway, i read that some of you wanted to make this skirt....
WARNING**** VERY TIME CONSUMING!!!! i am pretty sure I saw the actual instructions on Studio 5 a few weeks ago. You might want to try that source first - i haven't looked to see if it is still on there or not. I am sure you could google "bustle skirt" and find a good tutorial.
*tip number one: make sure you have plenty of fabric (it takes quite a bit) I bought mine on the 1.50 table at walmart and i bought 2 1/2 yards and ran out! The bustles are supposed to go clear to the waist band...but that just didn't happen because i ran out!
*tip number two: I used a heavier type of fabric (hoping to cut down on the wrinkling) not so sure that was a good idea - it is really heavy!:) cotton is probably the way to go!
*tip number 3: Make your circles larger than the lady says to do them. She suggested to use a jar lid as your pattern, but if i try it again, i am going to find something bigger. I felt like I was cutting and pinning the circle things on for hours!!!!
*tip number 4: after pinning down a row of the bustles - go ahead and sew that row on, before pinning on the next row.
*tip number 5: have patience and a helper! little rachel helped me fold each circle and then handed them to me to pin on...it helped out quite a bit!
hope that helps a little!
***UPDATE*** it is still on studio 5. I couldn't get the link to work, but go to ksl.com and click on studio5 at the top - then search bustle skirt!
emily brought me my camera bag yesterday and asked if we could play "photographer." She had picked out her own interesting ensemble to wear and everything! After each pose that she came up with, sam wanted to give it a try as well! such nuts!
i must have clicked on something weird on his eyebrow in photoshop somehow! It looks like i plucked that one! i am not THAT mean!:)

insecure.
Do you ever feel insecure about the little things in your life? I am not sure why I have been feeling this way, but i have noticed that I criticize just about EVERYTHING that I do lately. I worry that my house isn't good enough for some people to see, i am not a confidant cook - so i just try to avoid it, I am learning to sew, but I feel that I stink at it, so now I have a pile of unfinished dresses just staring at me, waiting to be finished. I even find myself zipping up my coat when I go into a store with all of kids, hoping that nobody will make the comment "oh, you're having ANOTHER baby?" (I get asked that just about everywhere that I go.) I love trying new things with decorating, fashion for my girls, just little projects that i see done on blogs, but when i am finished with the final product, i never have the confidence to show them to anyone. Well, today I am going to go for it!!!! Here is my take at the "bustle skirt" that I have seen floating around in blogland lately. There are MANY mistakes, but I am going to try not to notice them...so you do the same!:) i might just get up the courage to show you a few more things i have attempted lately...one. step. at. a. time. :)

i'm so glad when daddy comes home
mr. boo LOVES when his daddy comes home from work. i gave him a bath , threw a diaper on him and he was off to the window waiting for "dada" to pull up. daddy didn't disappoint - he came home as always.
I kinda adore his bellybutton...so does he.
i also kinda adore that I these pics are terribly imperfect. grainy, and dark, but i don't even mind a bit...they are real life and perfection to me.:)

little sassy pants!
Don't let the hot pink eye shadow and pearly earrings fool you...this girl has some ATTITUDE and she isn't afraid to show it in front of the camera! She is convinced that "real ballerinas" wear make-up every. single. day. Don't you even think of telling her otherwise.

i am still here!!!
I have been without a computer for a couple of weeks, so i thought i'd check my emails while I am here at grandmas house! I can't believe how many concerned emails i had from people wondering if i am alright! Thank You for caring and for being concerned!!! No, I didn't lose the baby... we are both doing great! HE is finally moving and squirming like he should be! Yes, another little blue eyed boy (i am just guessing on the blue eyed part, but I am pretty sure i am right!) ;) Emily was not so thrilled by the fact that he indeed had his boy parts all in tact, but I think she has come around to love him anyway!
Hopefully our computer will be up and running again in a day or so and I will share some pictures!

grateful today.
So today I had my routine 17 week checkup. I have been saying to Paul for a few days that i am getting worried cause i haven't felt much movement, if any at all. I just figured i just must be remembering wrong with my other kiddos. Well, i told my new doctor (i sooo miss my old one) about my concern and he just kinda blew it off as he went on telling me about his trips he just got back from. He is telling me this as he is trying to find a heartbeat...
i try to pretend i care about what he is yakking about, but really, i am noticing that he isn't picking up a heartbeat. This is my 5th time - i know what is normal and what isn't. I bluntly cut him off and asked, "why aren't we finding a heartbeat?" He shushed up for a what seemed like forever and kept trying and trying. He said, "There is no heartbeat. Have you felt any movement lately?" DUHHHH, i just told you that I haven't!!!! My heart began to pound out of my chest, i wanted to throw up. I was alone, paul had to work, i knew something was wrong, why didn't i bring him along?
I asked him to try one more time and try more on my left side (cause that's where i used to feel the most movement) He tried again. He told me i needed to calm down cause my heartbeat was over powering. He took my pulse...told me to relax (yeah right.)
Just as we had both about given up, we both heard a little heartbeat.
I have never been so grateful to hear such a beautiful little noise.
I have many friends who have miscarried and have had still born babies. My heart has always ached for each and everyone of them. I have always felt so blessed that this is one tragedy that i have never had to live through. Even though my heart broke for only a mere 6 minutes or so...it was enough time for me to feel a teensy bit of what it must have felt like for all my friends who have been through such a hard experience.
I will NOT complain about having this 5th little one join our family ever again. I know it threw me off guard at first, but after almost losing it today, and knowing how heartbroken i felt, i know it is meant to be. today i am grateful.
