THANK YOU all for such kind words! You really lifted my spirits! I agree with one of the comments that was made "women tend to put too much pressure on being perfect" - i was glad to hear that I am not alone in feeling like i am expected to be perfect - but really, who is, right?
anyway, i read that some of you wanted to make this skirt....
WARNING**** VERY TIME CONSUMING!!!! i am pretty sure I saw the actual instructions on Studio 5 a few weeks ago. You might want to try that source first - i haven't looked to see if it is still on there or not. I am sure you could google "bustle skirt" and find a good tutorial.
*tip number one: make sure you have plenty of fabric (it takes quite a bit) I bought mine on the 1.50 table at walmart and i bought 2 1/2 yards and ran out! The bustles are supposed to go clear to the waist band...but that just didn't happen because i ran out!
*tip number two: I used a heavier type of fabric (hoping to cut down on the wrinkling) not so sure that was a good idea - it is really heavy!:) cotton is probably the way to go!
*tip number 3: Make your circles larger than the lady says to do them. She suggested to use a jar lid as your pattern, but if i try it again, i am going to find something bigger. I felt like I was cutting and pinning the circle things on for hours!!!!
*tip number 4: after pinning down a row of the bustles - go ahead and sew that row on, before pinning on the next row.
*tip number 5: have patience and a helper! little rachel helped me fold each circle and then handed them to me to pin on...it helped out quite a bit!
hope that helps a little!
***UPDATE*** it is still on studio 5. I couldn't get the link to work, but go to ksl.com and click on studio5 at the top - then search bustle skirt!
emily brought me my camera bag yesterday and asked if we could play "photographer." She had picked out her own interesting ensemble to wear and everything! After each pose that she came up with, sam wanted to give it a try as well! such nuts!
i must have clicked on something weird on his eyebrow in photoshop somehow! It looks like i plucked that one! i am not THAT mean!:)

insecure.
Do you ever feel insecure about the little things in your life? I am not sure why I have been feeling this way, but i have noticed that I criticize just about EVERYTHING that I do lately. I worry that my house isn't good enough for some people to see, i am not a confidant cook - so i just try to avoid it, I am learning to sew, but I feel that I stink at it, so now I have a pile of unfinished dresses just staring at me, waiting to be finished. I even find myself zipping up my coat when I go into a store with all of kids, hoping that nobody will make the comment "oh, you're having ANOTHER baby?" (I get asked that just about everywhere that I go.) I love trying new things with decorating, fashion for my girls, just little projects that i see done on blogs, but when i am finished with the final product, i never have the confidence to show them to anyone. Well, today I am going to go for it!!!! Here is my take at the "bustle skirt" that I have seen floating around in blogland lately. There are MANY mistakes, but I am going to try not to notice them...so you do the same!:) i might just get up the courage to show you a few more things i have attempted lately...one. step. at. a. time. :)

i'm so glad when daddy comes home
mr. boo LOVES when his daddy comes home from work. i gave him a bath , threw a diaper on him and he was off to the window waiting for "dada" to pull up. daddy didn't disappoint - he came home as always.
I kinda adore his bellybutton...so does he.
i also kinda adore that I these pics are terribly imperfect. grainy, and dark, but i don't even mind a bit...they are real life and perfection to me.:)

little sassy pants!
Don't let the hot pink eye shadow and pearly earrings fool you...this girl has some ATTITUDE and she isn't afraid to show it in front of the camera! She is convinced that "real ballerinas" wear make-up every. single. day. Don't you even think of telling her otherwise.
