grinch

I kinda felt a little like the Grinch this year. I had great intentions to craft, bake, clean....nope. I was lazy, and tired and pretty much did nothing but gain about 25 pounds! I guess I could pass it off as pregnancy weight, but that would be just plain lying!:) It was a fun, relaxing few weeks though! Anyway, it looks like santa came through once again this year! Emily is not a huge fan of the jolly man in red. When I tucked her into bed on Christmas Eve, she started shaking and crying!!! She said, "I really don't want that man to come into our house!" That little pumpkin kills me sometimes!

"Don't bug me mom, I am busy playing with emily's toys!"
(He had no interest in anything once the dolls and kitties came out!)

A few new additions the family!
Sam makes sure they feel very welcome by      smothering them with slobbery kisses a million times a day!

my boy.

I haven't blogged about my little man in quite sometime. So, i thought tonight was the perfect night for some Zach bragging. I ADORE this boy of mine. He is the the kindest kid you will ever meet. He is always the first one to give up his things to avoid a temper tantrum from the younger ones. He cries a lot, but he tries to hide it... he thinks he need to be tough, but his heart is too tender. He loves wearing his baptism suit EVERY week to church (don't even try to convince him otherwise.) He is a follower of all the rules. Sometimes we tell him to loosen up and have fun - BE A BOY, GET INTO TROUBLE!!!!  He is the greatest magician in the whole third grade - he will show you trick after trick if he can get your attention long enough!  He  loves to sing the hymns in sacrament meeting  - he has such a cute voice! He hates his hair long - and by long, i mean a quarter of an inch - IT MUST BE BUZZED!   He is such a good big brother, sometimes I even catch him playing dolls with his sisters!  Oh, and best of all.... he is my little Cub Scout. :)

Thank You!

Wow! Thank you for all the congratulations and nice things you all posted below! It really did make me happy, and also gave me a boost in confidence...I CAN DO THIS!:)
Now, if only little Rachel would start being happy about it. She bawled when we told her. She asked "Where are we going to put it?" Paul and I couldn't help but chuckle at that one! My thought exactly sweet girl, my thought exactly.  I already feel like we are bursting at the seams - have you seen how tiny my kitchen is???? We can't even sit at the same dinner table together! sigh........
My new motto, "It will all work itself out."

Oh, and can I just tell you how absolutely AMAZING it feels to be all caught up with my photos? Yup, it feels like heaven!

Happy Halloween!

I have to admit - i am so glad this holiday is over! By the time it gets here I am so sick of it! I know, I'm a grouch.
I think it was too much drama this year. On Wednesday night Rachel wore her costume to dance. One of the girls told her that her hat was stupid. She took it right off and refused to put it back on...i hate mean kids. I finally talked her into wearing it the next day to school, she really hesitated and cried, but she ended up loving it! In the mean time, emily was over hearing / seeing all this drama and she refused to wear her clown outfit. She wanted NOTHING to do with it at all. I pick and choose my battles and i wasn't up for another meltdown, so i gave her 3 min to come up with her own costume from the playroom....
just glad  it's over.:)

punkin' time

I admit it. I am lazy. We take our kids to the grocery store to get their pumpkins. disgraceful? I know.  That was until last year when we went to a REAL LIFE pumpkin patch...we will NEVER go back to the ghetto store again...it just won't do. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't as glamorous as it looks. Those of you have been in public places with my 4 year old know this ONE thing....THERE WILL BE A TEMPER TANTRUM of some sort. Let's just say she didn't disappoint this time either. I guess when you are 4 and you want to take home EVERY pumpkin you see, you are entitled to a tantrum.

baby Kingsley

This new little man  lives just around the corner from me - he wasn't really diggin' much of the picture taking thing...typical male. :) He sure was cute and happy as long as he was in his mama's arms though!

beautiful day

Yesterday was Grandma Porter's funeral. It was a Beautiful, yet emotional day. I was so proud of my littles...they were so sad, but still wanted to see her one last time to say good-bye. They wrote sweet notes to her and were sweetly placed in her casket just before the family prayer was said and her casket closed. She was an amazing woman and is already missed by many.

How was your weekend? Mine was lovely, yet busy busy! Yup, i am officially a 30 year old mom - really, it wasn't bad at all! I couldn't believe how many facebook wishes and phone calls/texts came into me in one day! Thank you, i really do feel loved!
how did I spend my day? Well, I wore my ugliest (but comfiest) shirt I own, Caught up on some Good things Utah AND Studio Five, all while eating a bag of Cheetos. Then I happened to look outside and saw something on the sidewalk that looked like money! I went out to see...it was a FIVE DOLLAR BILL....SAAAWWEEEET!:) I was later given the beautiful roses from Paul and the kiddos. What is a birthday without the GHETTO Nicklemania??? It's not. So, off we went to spend our nickles! The night was followed by dinner at Leatherby's and Chocolate brownie ice cream cones. I really am the luckiest girl in the world.

cute outfits!

My sister- in- law teresa made these ADORABLE outfits for my girls! I threw them on and ran outside for a quick shoot...it didn't last though. The wind and rain came and this is all we got folks - i will post more soon! Thanks Teresa, you are amazing as always!:)

Grandma Porter "quarter" as my kids call her.

(i am sick that I don't have a pic of her and sam)

We are so happy that our sweet Grandma Porter has returned home to her Heavenly Father and the rest of her family! Don't get me wrong, we are sad and miss her too, but what a great blessing it is to know that we have been all been sealed together so that we can be together forever again someday.

We told the kids about her passing after school and tears flowed...they flowed into the night and even till the wee hours of the morning. My heart breaks when my babies are sad. This morning Emily wanted to write her a card. I found her a card and a crayon then asked what she wanted to write. This is what she said...

DEAR GRANDMA,

I MISS YOU. I WISH WE COULD GO BACK TO THE MALL AND HAVE A HOT DOG ON A STICK WITH YOU. YOU COULD EVEN BUY ME A TOY IF YOU WANT.

I LOVE YOU,

Emily

I thought it was so adorable. grandma LOVED a Saturday spent at the mall with a yummy lunch and company. A tradition my kids have missed the past few months, but will always remember - i am sure of it.

Halloween won't be the same without a visit to Grandma. I will never eat another pink sugar cookie that is as tasty as hers. I am so grateful that I married into such a wonderful family and that my children knew her as their "grandma quarter" we love you!
