I admit it. I am lazy. We take our kids to the grocery store to get their pumpkins. disgraceful? I know. That was until last year when we went to a REAL LIFE pumpkin patch...we will NEVER go back to the ghetto store again...it just won't do. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't as glamorous as it looks. Those of you have been in public places with my 4 year old know this ONE thing....THERE WILL BE A TEMPER TANTRUM of some sort. Let's just say she didn't disappoint this time either. I guess when you are 4 and you want to take home EVERY pumpkin you see, you are entitled to a tantrum.

baby Kingsley
This new little man lives just around the corner from me - he wasn't really diggin' much of the picture taking thing...typical male. :) He sure was cute and happy as long as he was in his mama's arms though!

beautiful day

Yesterday was Grandma Porter's funeral. It was a Beautiful, yet emotional day. I was so proud of my littles...they were so sad, but still wanted to see her one last time to say good-bye. They wrote sweet notes to her and were sweetly placed in her casket just before the family prayer was said and her casket closed. She was an amazing woman and is already missed by many.

How was your weekend? Mine was lovely, yet busy busy! Yup, i am officially a 30 year old mom - really, it wasn't bad at all! I couldn't believe how many facebook wishes and phone calls/texts came into me in one day! Thank you, i really do feel loved!
how did I spend my day? Well, I wore my ugliest (but comfiest) shirt I own, Caught up on some Good things Utah AND Studio Five, all while eating a bag of Cheetos. Then I happened to look outside and saw something on the sidewalk that looked like money! I went out to see...it was a FIVE DOLLAR BILL....SAAAWWEEEET!:) I was later given the beautiful roses from Paul and the kiddos. What is a birthday without the GHETTO Nicklemania??? It's not. So, off we went to spend our nickles! The night was followed by dinner at Leatherby's and Chocolate brownie ice cream cones. I really am the luckiest girl in the world.

Grandma Porter "quarter" as my kids call her.
We are so happy that our sweet Grandma Porter has returned home to her Heavenly Father and the rest of her family! Don't get me wrong, we are sad and miss her too, but what a great blessing it is to know that we have been all been sealed together so that we can be together forever again someday.
We told the kids about her passing after school and tears flowed...they flowed into the night and even till the wee hours of the morning. My heart breaks when my babies are sad. This morning Emily wanted to write her a card. I found her a card and a crayon then asked what she wanted to write. This is what she said...
DEAR GRANDMA,
I MISS YOU. I WISH WE COULD GO BACK TO THE MALL AND HAVE A HOT DOG ON A STICK WITH YOU. YOU COULD EVEN BUY ME A TOY IF YOU WANT.
I LOVE YOU,
Emily
I thought it was so adorable. grandma LOVED a Saturday spent at the mall with a yummy lunch and company. A tradition my kids have missed the past few months, but will always remember - i am sure of it.
Halloween won't be the same without a visit to Grandma. I will never eat another pink sugar cookie that is as tasty as hers. I am so grateful that I married into such a wonderful family and that my children knew her as their "grandma quarter" we love you!
