My Father in law teases me about my van ALWAYS being a mess...I can't deny it...it really is. I have tried and tried to keep it clean, but somehow all the CRAP seems to make it's way back into it! My sister says it's the law - IF YOU OWN A MINI VAN IT HAS TO BE A MESS! I love this rule! I also love it when a van or SUV pulls in next to me and papers, straws, and toys start falling out onto the pavement. I do a silent little "YESSSSS, her car is worse than mine" cheer!:)
Day #5 - clean the van. I mean REALLY clean it. We took out the seats and everything. Then we went on a drive to enjoy the cleanliness, because we all know, it won't be this way for long!
I even took before & after pics, but I can't get them to load! dang, it...I was so proud!

day #4
Today I was hoping the thing I was going to get to post about was being able to take a LOOONG Sunday afternoon nap. I never do this....and I still didn't get to today! Wanna know WHY???? Yup, still canning! Why didn't anyone warn me that once you start this LITTLE project that it NEVER ENDS???!!! It has been 3 days of sweating, peeling, stirring, measuring and did i mention SWEATING???? Paul is so awesome at stuff like this! I think I have ADD...i kept getting bored and wandered away every few minutes, while Paul so quietly kept at it! Seriously, he should have been the woman in the family! WE are proud to say that the LAST jar of peach jam has just been poured! I sang the "HALLELUJAH" song as I was screwing the last lid on! I will admit...it is kinda rewarding to have SO many BEAUTIFUL jars of jam sitting on the table! Now, will I ever do this again???? probably not. :)
Here is what my house looks like after 3 days of neglect and 4 children! I won't even post pictures of the downstairs...EVEN WORSE!

Day #3 Sept.11th
Where Where You When The World Stopped Turning?
( i LOVE that song)
Today I (okay, we!) taught my children about September 11th. They are starting to get old enough to ask questions, so what better way to teach them about this devastating, yet historic day then to take them to a special memorial that was put on at the Hill Air Force Museum. I was so mad that I forgot my camera!
There was a display of pictures taken on that day. Many of them very graphic, which made it kinda hard to explain to the little ones what the pictures were about, and what was happening in each one. Zach was very interested in the details, but I had to keep the explanations short and sweet for the other wee ones. The feeling was extremely somber - not the energy that usually fills an Airplane Museum filled with excited little boys! Today was different. I think he (Zach) finally got the significance of this day.
DAY #3 attend a September 11th memorial service
(every year I say i am going to do this)
Back to the question.... where were YOU when the world stopped turning?
I was 3 months pregnant with Zach. I was in the Cottonwood mall setting up the store (Robyn Todd) for the day. I saw all the mall walkers GLUED to the television. I was curious, but went on with my business thinking they were watching something that had NOTHING to do with me. I remember hearing screams, so ran out to see what on earth was going on! I got to the TV just in time to see the 2nd plane hit the building. I was still confused as to what had just happened. At that moment Paul called and said, "get to a television!" He quickly updated me on the mornings events...I was sick. I couldn't believe it. As word of the other planes that had crashed came in, I remember thinking..."I can't believe that I am going to bring a child into this SCARY world." The day was full of of shock and sorrow for everyone. The mall closed down for the day, and we were told to go home and stay with our families. That is just what i did.
how about you?

day #2
CANNING. I hear this word I immediately become intimidated. I have always wanted to make jams with yummy fresh fruit, so that's what I decided my second day was going to be! I know, I am a dangerous. I am living life on the edge. :)
I gathered my 2 little ones, and my friend Mindy and off we went to the local Farmers Market at the park. We sampled the scrumptious goodies, bought some AMAZING tamales, and headed home with a few goodies (fruit of course!) The finished product still isn't complete...who knew canning was so dang time consuming! anyway, I can now mark this off my list of things I have always wanted to give a try!
oh, and thank you for all the kind words in my last 2 posts...your comments crack me up!

day #1
Welcome to day #1 on my "thirty days to 30!"
I went blonde / orange! I kinda look like a cross between a hooker and a white trash mama!:) I put my "hooker boots" on with some jeans this morning and just couldn't walk out the door that way! I chickened out and slipped on a pair of ballet slipper shoes instead! yes, i am a chicken like that.

HOLY CRAP!!!!
As I was paying for my groceries this morning it hit me.....HOLY CRAP i have exactly ONE month left in my twenties!!!! This can't be true. ugh....
booooooooo......hooooo......
why is this so upsetting???? i don't understand myself. what was turning the big 30 like for you? Did you have a party? Did you sulk? Did you bawl your eyes out? I'd better do something daring and exciting everyday for the next month! You're only in your 20's once, right? :)

girls only carnival!
Rachel asked for "GIRLS ONLY carnival party" She thinks boys are OBNOXIOUS!:) Zach talked her into letting him be the magician if he could come! She kindly agreed and became the hit of the party! I didn't even know that he knew tricks - he did! We ate lots of junk food, played carnival games, daddy did the face painting, a photo booth, and gold fish! It was so fun, I think we should do it again soon!
the video above got cut off...he is trying to make a knot appear on the rope!:)
